Brick permanent formwork (brick mold / brick side form): quantity calculation and pricing calibers — by volume, priced under brick-foundation items, plastering separate, with regional measure-item differences

Brick formwork quantities are computed by design-shown volume (m3): centerline length around the wrapped member x masonry height x design thickness, with brick-foundation rules (no deduction of spread-footing T-joint overlaps or single holes <= 0.30 m2). The mainstream pricing applies the "brick foundation" item — expressly in railway TB/T 10831-2024, Shenzhen SJG 111.2-2022, and Shaanxi's new draft; inner-face plastering prices separately under interior general plaster (Shenzhen: labor x 0.90); positions with brick formwork take no concrete side formwork. Regional difference: Shenzhen's building system lists brick formwork and its plastering under measures — concrete/reinforced formwork (SJG 77-2020, 5.5.3).

Topic Positioning

Quantity rules and pricing calibers for brick permanent formwork (brick mold / side form — masonry built at the side-form position of underground concrete members). Compiles railway, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shaanxi standards into a complete "takeoff — pricing — plastering — anti-duplication — regional difference" chain.

Core Conclusions

1. Takeoff: by volume (m3), brick-foundation caliber V = sum(centerline length x masonry height x design thickness), taken around pile caps, grade beams, raft drop panels, sumps, etc., from bedding top to the member design level; thickness per design (commonly 120/180/240mm). Detail rules follow brick foundations (Beijing DB11/T 2382-2024, 4.5.6): "Foundation quantities by design-shown volume, including attached-pier widening, deducting grade beams (ring beams) and constructional columns; not deducting spread-footing T-joint overlaps, embedded rebar/iron/pipes, damp courses, or single holes <= 0.30 m2; no addition for heating-trench cornices... external walls by centerline, internal by net length." Railway TB/T 10831-2024 agrees; GB/T 50854-2024 Table D.1.1 (010401) likewise by volume.

2. Pricing: "brick foundation" items (express in several regions)

  • Railway TB/T 10831-2024 volume notes: "Brick foundations execute one item per brick type/spec regardless of width or spread foot. Brick molds for underground concrete members and masonry retaining walls use brick-foundation items."
  • Shenzhen SJG 111.2-2022: "Brick molds for underground concrete members and masonry retaining walls use brick-foundation items." "...one item per brick type/spec regardless of width or footings." "Quantities by design-shown volume in m3."
  • Shaanxi new draft: "Brick molds under raft drop panels, masonry retaining walls, and brick bore-pile liners use brick-foundation items."
  • Beijing DB11/T 2382-2024 Table A.4.1 items A-4-1~A-4-4 (m3; work: base cleaning, mortar mixing, laying, jointing) — the same mainstream caliber though the text sets no "brick mold" clause.

3. Plastering: separate item Shenzhen SJG 111.2-2022: "Brick-formwork plastering executes interior general plaster with labor x 0.90, else unchanged." (Inner-face plaster often doubles as a waterproof base.)

4. Anti-duplication: no concrete side formwork where brick formwork is used Brick formwork is itself the side-form scheme — do not also price concrete side forms (one of the two).

5. Regional system difference (important) Shenzhen building system, SJG 77-2020, 5.5.3: "Basement masonry includes brick/block/stone walls, partitions, and all foundation bedding except concrete bedding; excludes masonry reinforcement and brick permanent formwork. Basement masonry reinforcement goes to basement rebar; brick permanent formwork and its plastering go to basement measures — concrete/reinforced formwork." I.e., that system lists it under measures, while railway and tunnel systems treat it as divisional masonry (brick-foundation items).

Applicable Boundaries

  • Compiles railway TB/T 10831-2024, Shenzhen SJG 111.2-2022/SJG 77-2020, Beijing DB11/T 2382-2024, and the Shaanxi draft; pricing follows the contract and the local current basis/interpretations.
  • Volume computation presumes the design fixes thickness, height, and position; curved masonry etc. per norm conversion rules.
  • Brick formwork and concrete side forms are mutually exclusive — fix the brick-formwork scope in the method statement before pricing.
