2. Ball-passing test: no separate sub-item; coefficient adjustment on the indoor drainage pipe installation sub-item. 6.10.30 (general installation works, 6.10 water supply and drainage, heating and gas works): "The test content required for indoor pipe installation shall be determined by the design or the code. Where the design requires disinfection and flushing of the pipes, the labor consumption of the corresponding pipe-installation item should be multiplied by 1.05, the other-materials fee ratio may be increased by 0.10% and the other-tools fee ratio by 0.15%; where the design requires a ball-passing test, the labor consumption of the corresponding item should be multiplied by 1.10, the other-materials fee ratio may be increased by 1.00% and the other-tools fee ratio by 0.05%." Operating rule: apply the normal indoor drainage pipe installation sub-item (e.g. drainage plastic pipe (fusion jointing) C10-2-105/DN50, C10-2-107/DN100, C10-2-108/DN125, unit m) and adjust by coefficients at the foot of that sub-item - labor x 1.10, other-materials fee ratio +1.00%, other-tools fee ratio +0.05% - noting "including ball-passing test" in the sub-item remarks. The coefficients are triggered only by a "design or code requirement".

3. Tests already included for indoor works (not charged separately): 6.10.25: "The construction consumptions of indoor pipe installation shall include hydrostatic pressure testing and water flushing." The work content of indoor drainage plastic-pipe sub-items expressly lists "temporary plugging and water-filling test" (e.g. C10-2-104 drainage plastic pipe (solvent-cement jointing) DN200, unit m). Hence indoor hydrostatic testing, water flushing and water-filling (water-tightness-type) tests are likewise not charged separately.

4. Trigger conditions of the tests (technical-code basis):

• Water-tightness test: DB11/T 1835-2021 "Technical Specification for Construction of Water Supply and Drainage Pipelines", 9.6.1 - "Sewer pipes, combined storm-sewage pipes, inverted siphons and other drainage pipes for which the design imposes a water-tightness requirement shall undergo the water-tightness test."
• Ball-passing test: DB11/T 1832.13-2022 "Specification for Construction Technology of Building Works, Part 13: Water Supply and Drainage", 5.4.15 - "After the water-flow test passes, a 100% ball-passing test shall be carried out on drainage risers and horizontal mains; the ball diameter is 2/3 of the pipe diameter, and unobstructed passage counts as passing." The Beijing local standard requires 100% ball passing for risers and mains - civil buildings normally must allow for it; do not omit it when compiling.

Applicable Boundaries

• The basis is Beijing DB11/T 2382-2024; the treatment under other provinces'/cities' standards or other Beijing editions may differ and cannot be transferred directly across regions.
• Municipal (outdoor) drainage and indoor drainage belong to different chapters: outdoor under 7.4 pipeline-network works "drainage pipeline laying" sub-items (water-tightness test included); indoor under 6.10 water-supply-and-drainage sub-items + coefficients (ball test). Mixing the chapters leads to misapplication.
• The coefficients for the ball-passing test and disinfection flushing are applied only when "required by the design or the code"; where not required, no adjustment.
• The water-tightness test must not be itemized as a separate BOQ item or sub-item - risk of duplicate pricing; the coefficient adjustments and the "including ball test" note should be written at the foot of the pipe-installation sub-item so that the basis stands up to audit.
