The plaster item split of "section 2 wall and column works" in chapter 2 (decoration) of TB/T 10831-2024 Volume 10, and how wall levelling prices and fills its gap under the railway system.

Core Conclusions

1. The split: two sections only, no standalone wall screed

• (1) General plaster FY-1346 to FY-1358: internal walls (14+6), external walls (14+6), per 1 mm increment, rubble walls, mesh-lined walls, lightweight walls, plaster mouldings, freestanding columns (beams) polygonal / round, freestanding columns (beams) rectangular, sundry plaster, glass-fibre mesh, hung steel wire mesh, hung steel plate mesh.
• (2) Decorative plaster FY-1359 to FY-1376: exposed aggregate (granitic plaster) / dry thrown / axed (position, column, sundry), grooved (ribbed), spatterdash, dividing, glass-caulked joints, backing and levelling 15 thick, wall bonding agent, neat cement mortar bonding agent.
• General plaster content, original: "clean the substrate, patch and plug, wet, haul, sweep droppings; multi-coat plastering and levelling, finish trowelling (including reveals)." - levelling is inside.
• Decorative plaster content: "clean the substrate, patch and plug, wet, haul, sweep droppings; multi-coat plastering and levelling, decorative finish, dividing joints."

2. Where levelling-type content belongs

• FY-1374 "decorative plaster, backing and levelling, 15 thick": of the decorative section - the backing-levelling item for decorative plaster (cleaning, mortar mixing and hauling, spreading and compacting).
• FY-1189 to FY-1193: floor cement-mortar / fine-gravel concrete screeds - of section 1, floor works.
• Roof screeds belong to civil works (chapter 1). -> No standalone wall screed exists: decorative backing runs FY-1374; levelling a whole wall with no finish is a gap - never substitute FY-1189 floor screeds or roof screeds (position, process and measurement all differ).

3. Section notes worth noting

• Curved, saw-tooth and like irregular walls: plaster, tiling and curtain walls x 1.15 on labour and plant.
• Plaster mouldings serve door and window linings, canopies, string courses, copings, shade-board edges, notice-board frames and vertical / horizontal features projecting over 300 mm or less developed width; 300-400 mm x 1.33, 400-500 mm x 1.67.
• Sundry plaster serves cupboards, cabinets, bay-window boards, AC shelves, radiator covers, pools and beds, and plaster of 0.50 m2 or less.
• Column caps and bases merge into the column area, adding labour per unit: plaster 0.25 workday, tiling 0.38, facing 0.50.

4. Plaster measurement (volume notes)

• Internal walls and dados deduct openings and holes over 0.30 m2, undeduct skirtings, picture rails, holes of 0.30 m2 or less and wall-member junctions; reveals of openings and holes add nothing; plaster to attached column sides merges into the wall / dado.
• Internal wall and dado length on clear distance between main walls; height from floor to soffit; wall plaster deducts dado plaster.
• With suspended ceilings, internal wall and column plaster rises to the ceiling underside plus 100 mm.
• External walls by vertical projection, deducting openings, dados and holes over 0.30 m2; reveals add nothing.
• Columns by structural perimeter times plaster height; decorative dividing and caulking by plaster area; sundry items by developed area shown.

Applicability Boundaries

• For railway building budgets compiled on Volume 10 only - not the national bill (GB/T 50854) or local consumption standards.
• Item base prices pair consumption with quota pricing - adjust to the compiling period; no base prices locked here.
• A levelling-only wall being a gap: compile a supplementary unit-rate build-up schedule or adapt an analogous-process item - never borrow floor or roof screeds.
• Curtain wall, tile and facing items exclude metal framing; curtain walls exclude insulation - compute separately.
